On the upland fringe of the Cheviots, 1200 acres of diverse grassland and habitats, the Scotts have been farming sheep and cattle at Dolphinston for 3 generations. In 2007 we converted to an organic system, grass rearing over 2000 sheep and 100 cows that live outside all year round.

The Jed Water and Jed Water ancient woodland boundaries the farm, a site of scientific interest.

The farm is rich in archaeological remains. It is thought the farm, itself is likely to have originated in the Early Medieval period (10-11th centuries AD) as the name Dolphinston derives from the Old Norse Dolphin and the Old English tun “Dolphin’s Farm”.
